Dev4Jannah LLC ("Qarya," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Qarya mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account & Profile Information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and an authentication identifier from Apple or Google if you sign in that way. You may also add a profile photo, cover photo, and short bio.
Location Information. With your permission, we collect your device's location to auto-fill your neighborhood and zip code during onboarding, and to determine which content falls within your selected radius. You may also manually enter or adjust your neighborhood, zip code, and radius preference at any time. You can disable location permissions in your device settings, though some features may not work as intended.
Mosque/Community Affiliation. You may voluntarily select one or more mosques or communities to associate with your profile. This information is self-reported and used to prioritize relevant content in your feed.
Content You Post. We collect the content you create, including posts (marketplace, housing, service, and event listings), titles, descriptions, prices, category-specific details, and any photos or videos you upload.
Messages. We collect the content of private messages you send to other users through the Service so that we can deliver them and, where necessary, review them for safety, security, and legal compliance purposes.
Camera, Photo Library, and Microphone. If you choose to upload photos or record video, the Service requests access to your camera, photo library, and microphone (for audio in videos). We only access these when you choose to use these features.
Device and Usage Information. We and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, and general usage/diagnostic data, to operate and improve the Service.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account;
- Show you relevant local content based on your neighborhood, radius, and mosque affiliation;
- Enable marketplace, housing, service, and event listings, and private messaging between users;
- Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Service, including detecting fraud and abuse;
- Communicate with you about your account or the Service;
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
- With Other Users: Your display name, profile photo, neighborhood, mosque affiliation, and any content you post (listings, comments, messages you send) are visible to other users of the Service as intended by the relevant feature.
- Service Providers: We share information with providers who help us operate the Service, including Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Google (Google Sign-In and Google Maps), Apple (Sign in with Apple), and Expo (application infrastructure). These providers process information on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using it for other purposes.
- Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Qarya, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: If Qarya is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
4. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and Update: You can review and update most of your profile information directly in the app.
- Delete Account: You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting info@qaryaapp.com. We will delete or anonymize your information except where we are required to retain it for legal, safety, or legitimate business purposes.
- Location and Media Permissions: You can enable or disable location, camera, photo library, and microphone permissions at any time in your device settings.
- Messaging: You can block or report other users within the app.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information for a limited period after account deletion where necessary for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users between 13 and 17 may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@qaryaapp.com so we can delete it.
7. California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you the right to:

- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising);

8. European/UK Privacy Rights (GDPR)

Our legal bases for processing your information include performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), your consent (e.g., for location and media permissions), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service.
